Every year, on the eve of the feast of St. John, May 3, the villagers recall the ancient custom of adorning them with flowers, tamarisk branches, spices, and palm leaves.

These religious holidays keep alive one of the country’s most touching traditions.

Getting to Tesjuate from Puerto del Rosario is very convenient, as it is only 10 km from the capital of Fuerteventura.
