La Concha beach in Fuerteventura

La Concha beach is a beautiful beach located in the north of the island of Fuerteventura next to the popular beach El Cotillo.

This beach is not always mentioned in the classic tourist itineraries of the island, but I assure you that, without taking anything away from the beach of El Cotillo, we are talking about Caribbean beauty.

Playa De La Concha, awarded the blue flag, has fine white sand and a sea that ranges from blue to green.

To get to La Concha beach, coming from El Cotillo or Corralejo, you need to follow the direction of the El Toston lighthouse.

At a certain point the road becomes a dirt road, but by proceeding with caution, even with a city car, it is possible to reach the parking lot without major difficulties.

Beach features

The beach is located practically in a bay and has very fine, white sand that creates a typical Mediterranean effect and is in stark contrast with the color of the sea.

As it happens for most of the beaches in Fuerteventura, La Concha beach is also a wild beach and there are no sunbeds and umbrellas services.

Those who like long walks will be disappointed, as this bay is not as large as those in the surrounding area such as Los Lagos.

In this bay, the water in some parts is very shallow and without waves and therefore accessible to everyone without problems, especially for the little ones.

At certain times of the day, even though Playa De La Concha gets very crowded, especially on less windy days, it is always a pleasure to sunbathe and enjoy a swim in the Caribbean sea.

In the immediate vicinity, there is a bar, where you can have lunch with the classic typical flavors of the place, alternatively in the surroundings, you will find bars, restaurants and pizzerias.

How to get to La Concha beach

Getting to La Concha beach is very easy and convenient.

This enchanting beach in Fuerteventura is approximately 39 km from Puerto del Rosario, a 36-minute drive.

If you choose to rent a car, take the FV – 1 towards La Oliva and then the FV – 109 and FV – 10 towards El Cotillo.

The road to follow is comfortable and asphalted, until you reach a large parking lot near the beach.

For those who wish, there is a beach bar with a splendid view of the ocean, where you can have breakfast, a quick lunch, a snack or a cold drink.
