On our holidays at Fuerteventura we cannot forget to enjoy the breathtaking view that Caleta del Marrajo offers us.
Caleta del Marrajo is located about ten minutes north of El Cotillo , in the north of Fuerteventura and is a completely natural dream beach.
We are on the edge of the ocean and yet, there are small coves where the sea remains calm like a lagoon while in the background green and foamy waves advance.
Before entering the pretty village of El Cotillo you have to turn right and follow the signs for the Toston lighthouse.
Once you reach the “Azzurro” restaurant, there is a large car park where you can leave your car and reach the first coves.
Here the crystal clear water invites you to take a dip, even defying the not exactly favorable temperatures!
Continuing by car to the lighthouse and taking a dirt road on the right, a breathtaking landscape appears before us.
Views that will capture your heart and are hard to forget, are the reason why you are already thinking about your next trip to Fuerteventura.
Wild coves with breathtaking colours
Wild coves of white sand surrounded by the intense black of the lava rocks and the sea with its wonderful emerald green color!
Even though the ocean water is a little cold, diving into Caleta del Marrajo beach is refreshing and regeneratimg.
You can still enjoy the day at the beach in total relaxation and admiring the surfers.
A beautiful beach battered by an incessant wind, with postcard-style cliffs overlooking the sea.
The sea is not very deep and the waves are not too rough, making it perfect for a relaxing day for families with small children.
Caleta del Marrajo is never crowded and there are no beach services such as sunbeds and umbrellas.
But Fuerteventura is just this, desert places and very long coastlines of white, golden and black volcanic sand.
Here you are alone, the sun warming your heart, the wind caressing your skin and the thousand shades of the Atlantic colors for a regenerating bath.
Beach features
This beach is famous for its unique natural environment, where the crystal clear waters and fine white sand contrast with the volcanic rock formations.
The rock formations created by volcanic lava divide the beach into small inlets, which at low tide transform into beautiful natural pools with crystal-clear water.
Caleta del Marrajo, like most beaches of Fuerteventura, is a magical place where there is nothing, so it is important to bring everything you need.
Beach towel, umbrellas, drinks and packed lunch and set off to discover breathtaking places that leave indelible marks on the soul.
In short, the ideal place for those seeking tranquility surrounded by wild landscapes to enjoy the sea and nature of Fuerteventura .
It is impossible not to visit this enchanting beach, where you can admire the extraordinary beauty of the island, especially at sunset.
The constant presence of trade winds in Caleta del Marrajo makes it perfect for lovers of kitesurfing and water sports.
How to get to Caleta de Marrajo?
Getting to Caleta del Marrajo from Puerto del Rosario, the capital of Fuerteventura, is convenient and easy, choosing between bus, taxi or car rental.
The distance of approximately 42 km can be covered in approximately 40 minutes, following the FV 3 and FV 1 towards Corralejo and then continuing towards Lajares on the FV 9.
Don’t worry about the journey, as the roads in Fuerteventura are in perfect condition.
And if you still have time, don’t miss a visit to Majanicho, a small fishing village, located in a beautiful bay.
A delightful little town, known for its charm of simplicity and the peace of remote villages.
