Ugán Beach, in the municipality of Pajara

Ugán beach , just 300 m long, is one of the wildest beaches on the west coast of the municipality of Pájara and is made up of black sand and pebbles.

This wonderful place is located very close to La Pared beach and is easily accessible via a path that connects to the FV-605 road. 

Most of the route is paved and only the last 300 m are on a dirt road, in acceptable conditions.

Ugán Beach , located about 6 km north of La Pared, is a small beach and is not an ideal place for inexperienced swimmers.

Here, strong currents, constant winds, and the imposing waves of the Atlantic Ocean often make swimming dangerous. 

You need to pay maximum attention to currents and it is important to avoid straying too far from the shore and only swim if you are an expert swimmer.

Due to its rocky and pebbled seabed, protective footwear is essential for entering and exiting the water without injury.

Before spending a day on this wonderful beach, it is important to check the tides, always opting for low tide.

As with most beaches in the south of Fuerteventura, here too, wild and unspoiled nature dominates and there are no beach services.

In this remote bay there are no sunbeds, umbrellas, beach kiosks or lifeguards to provide rescue services in case of emergency.

 

How to get to Playa de Ugán

Ugán Beach is located in the southwestern part of Pájara, along a coast that is still sparsely populated and much loved by those seeking quieter spots.

To reach it, we recommend renting a car, which is also suitable for dirt roads.

From Costa Calm to Morro Jable , take the FV-2 road until you see signs for the coast. 

The last stretch may include dirt roads, so it is important to drive carefully.

The area doesn’t have many tourist services, and this is precisely one of the aspects that makes Playa de Ugán so charming. 

We recommend bringing water, sunscreen, and everything you need to spend a few hours immersed in nature.
