The cave of Tarajalejo is located in the municipality of Tuineje , in Tarajalejo, one of the most picturesque towns in the south of Fuerteventura.
Exploring every corner of Fuerteventura and especially this cave is one of the best adventures you can have on this island, which does nothing but amaze you.
In this picturesque and very suggestive place it is easy to get lost and be enchanted by so much beauty that only this island can offer you.
The Tarajalejo Beach Cave is located right on the Tarajalejo Beach , which is a wide, volcanic beach with very clear waters.
There are many rocks on the beach leading to the cave , so it would be advisable to bring rubber shoes to enter the water.
For those who love quiet beaches, less frequented by tourists and less windy beaches of Fuerteventura , Playa de Tarajalejo is the right one.
The ocean waves here are generally smaller in this part of the island, which makes this beach even more attractive and unique.
When to go?
The cave of Tarajalejo is not really affected by the ocean, the waves do not reach that far and therefore you can visit it at any time of the day.
Thanks to the mild climate of Fuerteventura all year round and the low presence of trade winds in this part of the island, the cave can be visited all year round.
After visiting the Tarajalejo’s Cave and the beach of the same name at its southern end, you can relax on long walks enjoying the benefits of the sea.
If you decide to visit this cave at sunset, you can sit on the benches on the seafront, admiring one of the most beautiful sunsets at Fuerteventura .
This remains one of the most beautiful caves in Fuerteventura, with the spectacle of lights and colours on the ocean and the reflection on the sand and its black pebbles.
How to get there?
The Cave of Tarajalejo is located approximately 56 km from Puerto del Rosario, capital of Fuerteventura, a distance that can be covered in 48 minutes.
Starting from Puerto del Rosario, continue on the FV-2 towards Morro Jable , until the sign for Tarajalejo appears .
We proceed following the signs for Playa de Tarajalejo , as the cave is located at the northern end of the beach.
