You can’t help but start exploring the most beautiful beaches of north Fuerteventura when you set off on a trip to the most beautiful island of the Canaries.

A mix of contrasting panoramas, where on one side the wild and uncontaminated landscapes of Fuerteventura’s nature, where it seems that time has stopped.

And on the other, long coastlines of soft Caribbean sand, the thousand shades of colors of the ocean, with modern hotels and a lively nightlife.

Fuerteventura, like the rest of the Canary archipelago, is mainly a volcanic island, where every beach, every rock and cove are rare treasures.

The towns of Fuerteventura such as: Corralejo, El Cotillo, La Oliva, Lajares and Majanicho , hide in their coastline many of the most beautiful beaches in the north of the island.

All the beaches of north Fuerteventura are suitable for all water sports, given the constant presence of trade winds from the north or north-east.

The best beaches of Corralejo

It would be impossible to talk about the most beautiful beaches in the north of Fuerteventura and not start with the famous Corralejo Dunes, located in the Corralejo Natural Park .

Grandes Playas, with 9 kilometres of heavenly beaches bordered by the dunes of Corralejo, are a true earthly paradise for those seeking to enjoy the sea, the sun and relaxation.

A place where turquoise and emerald waters caress a coast covered with white sand formed naturally by the erosion of sea shells.

With great exfoliating properties for the skin, the white sand transforms these beaches into an authentic natural spa with views of the enchanting Lobos island and Lanzarote.

Popcorn Beach, which is not your usual stretch of sand, but a real carpet of popcorn, not really, but small fossils of white algae.

These algae, whose original red color has become white over time and the waves, pushing them ashore, have given them a unique shape.

Flag Beach, one of the most loved by tourists from all over the world, with its turquoise waters and the 1.5 km long white beach.

Flag Beach at Fuerteventura offers breathtaking landscapes with its natural pools that form at low tide, perfect for the little ones.

This beach is perfect for practicing water sports, especially in august such as: surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing , sup, kayak which color the sky every day.

El Moro beach, also called Playa Alzada because of the wind that blows from the northeast and lifts the sand along the road, is one of the most suggestive.

A small beach, with very white sand, turquoise waters and the presence of surfers, make it enchanting especially with the breathtaking colors of the sunset.

The most beautiful beaches of El Cotillo

Exploring the small and picturesque fishing village, El Cotillo every tourist is enchanted by the breathtaking beauty of its beaches.

Let’s see some of them together!

La Concha beach is the queen of a series of white sandy coves with transparent turquoise waters and an often calm sea.

A true paradise for lovers of relaxation on heavenly beaches and you can swim without problems even in the windiest months.

Thanks to its shallow waters and small natural pools that form at low tide, Playa de la Concha is suitable for families with children.

Playa del Aguila, also called Escalera beach is a beach that you will notice as you go down to the south of El Cotillo after a stretch of rocky coast.

In this part of the coast of Fuerteventura, the sea is always rough and the currents are strong, so it is advisable to be very careful.

Aguila beach is charming, intimate and surrounded by dark rocks that create fanciful profiles and can be reached on foot via a long staircase.

Esquinzo beach is very famous especially for expert surfers in Fuerteventura, who want to ride the ocean waves.

At low tide, however, you will find calm waters like a natural pool between the cliffs located at the side of the beach.

Near the beach, the trail to the Barranco de los Encantados starts , a geological heritage that was once the seabed raised by volcanic activity.

El Cotillo Beach & Lagoons is a spectacular beach, magnificent colors black of the rock contrasting with the white of the sand, turquoise water and blue sky.

It is a very large beach, quite crowded with tourists and particularly windy.

The most beautiful beaches of Lajares and Majanicho

When you need to discover authentic places where you can find your balance of physical and psychological well-being in the wild nature, just stop at Lajares.

Peace and tranquility are also found in its small and enchanting beach, Caleta Beatriz , which offers unique landscapes.

The white sand stretches for 200 m in length, the gentle waves and the pale blue colour of its waters, remind one of a Caribbean paradise.

Majanicho, a fishing village where the sea is omnipresent and the boats sway in the water so transparent that they seem to float in the air.

The white sand of Majanicho beach and the turquoise water are the perfect setting to enjoy a relaxing day in an oasis of well-being.

On windy days, water sports enthusiasts enjoy playing in the spectacular waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
