Camping in Fuerteventura

Camping in Fuerteventura is often the perfect way to enjoy the island’s breathtaking scenery and pristine, Caribbean-like beaches.

Fuerteventura’s beaches are a favorite among campervan and caravan enthusiasts, allowing them to explore the island in complete freedom.

Overnight stays in campers, caravans, and vans are permitted for a maximum of 48 hours, and extending your stay simply requires moving the vehicle a few meters. 

Furthermore, it is not possible to book with a camper or caravan in Fuerteventura , on any beach, such as in protected natural spaces and never outside the vehicle.

To camp in a campervan in Fuerteventura near the most beautiful beaches, you need a special permit from the municipality where you want to park.

The permit application is free and can be done online on the website of the municipality where you intend to park your camper in Fuerteventura .

 

What’s the difference between camping and staying overnight?

There are two ways to camp  in Fuerteventura and stay on its magical beaches:

Overnight stay to sleep in the vehicle, using the vehicle as a hotel room:

• If the vehicle is stationary on all 4 wheels 
• It does not take up more space than a closed camper, without open windows, tables, chairs etc.
• There are no smoke or fluid emissions 

Camping , on the other hand, not only can you stay overnight, but you can also choose to eat outside the vehicle, rest or sunbathe:

• When opening windows, put out tables and chairs or other items that exceed the perimeter space of the vehicle 
• Stabilizing legs are put on 
• When there are emissions of fluids, clean or dark water

In both cases, it would be necessary to empty the waste water in the appropriate areas using chips at a cost of €3, such as: 

• at the BP gas station in Corralejo
• in the La Oliva service area 
• Disa gasolinera in front of Playa Blanca

 

Costs and beaches where you can stay with a camper or caravan

All camping areas in Fuerteventura are published by the municipality and are specified in detail. You cannot choose the beach where you camp.

Of course, you can choose to rent a camper in Fuerteventura or, for those with more time available, set off with your own vehicle.

• Prices for a country house: €15 for a week, €50 for 8-30 days.

You can fill your camper’s drinking water tank for a fixed price of €10.
